Are you keen to learn more about proven, practical ways to build soil carbon levels in a grazing enterprise? Curious about soil carbon projects and the benefits of increasing soil carbon for improved soil health, resilience and productivity?

This is your opportunity to move beyond the theory and see soil carbon building practices in action! Atlas Carbon invites you to a field day hosted at Jared and Suz Doyle’s 2,300 hectare beef cattle property, 'Coventry', located 40 minutes south of Tamworth, NSW.

As Atlas Carbon and MaiaGrazing customers who registered a soil carbon project with the Clean Energy Regulator in August 2024, the Doyles offer real-world insights into the practices that build soil carbon. This field day will involve information sessions with soil carbon experts, demonstrations and paddock walks.

  • When: Tuesday, 17th June 2025
  • Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Where: 'Coventry', Hosted by Jared & Suz Doyle, Tamworth, NSW (Specific directions will be provided upon registration)
  • What to bring: BYO chair, comfortable shoes and dress for the conditions. This is an outdoor event.
  • Catering: Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Expert Education Sessions:
Deep dive into how soil carbon is sequestered and retained with Atlas Carbon’s Soil Experts, Bart Davidson and Rafe Ritchie. They'll share their knowledge, observations and practical considerations relevant to local grazing systems.

Live Soil Sampling Demonstration: See what's involved in accurately measuring soil carbon. We will demonstrate the process of taking a soil core and explain the crucial on-farm due diligence Atlas Carbon undertakes when assessing a property’s soil carbon levels and potential.

Farmer-Led Paddock Walks with Jared Doyle: Walk the 'Coventry' paddocks with host Jared Doyle. Hear directly about the practice changes they are undertaking, including changes to grazing management, multi-species pastures, and wire and water as part of their soil carbon journey. Ask questions and discuss the practicalities in a real-world farm setting.

Explore the use of tools including MaiaGrazing that support resilient land management and grazing practices.

Meet Your Hosts: Jared & Suz Doyle

Jared and Suz run a significant beef cattle operation at 'Coventry' near Tamworth. As proactive land managers, they are valued Atlas Carbon and MaiaGrazing clients who are actively implementing practices to build soil carbon and enhance the resilience of their property. Jared recently shared his experiences and journey on a panel at the 2025 Wilmot Field Day, demonstrating their commitment to producer-led learning and innovation in agriculture.
